I don’t know how time has gone so fast the past few years, but Mila starts tot school this week. I have seriously been debating homeschooling her, and a friend of mine just started a homeschooling tot group for 3 year olds. Perfect?! Throughout the week, we do fun and educational activities at home, and once a week we meet up as a group so the kids can interact and learn together. I want to make sure she gets some of the school experience and this certainly seems like the best way for us. They are even doing “first day of school” photos together and it makes me giddy/sad all at the same time.
One of the things I want to incorporate into her learning time each week is cooking. This week we are working on The Little Blue Truck curriculum, and we’ve been talking about farming and how most fruits and vegetables are grown on a farm. With this recipe for sweet potato waffles, we talked about how the eggs come from chickens, the milk from cows, and that the oats and sweet potatoes are grown from the ground.
This recipe is very versatile as you can add cinnamon or maybe some brown sugar for added flavor. I like to keep them simple so I can throw on some fried eggs and avocado for an adult meal, and my toddler likes to dip them in yogurt or raw honey. One thing I love adding into quite a few of Mila’s recipes lately, is Go & Grow by Similac® Mix-Ins™. This product is available at Walmart or Walmart.com. They are SO easy to throw into any meal as they are unflavored and add more protein, fiber, and essential nutrients for toddlers like mine, who are picky eaters. On days when all she wants to eat is mac and cheese, I just throw in one packet for a 1 serving size or 1/2 cup of food.
Right now on Ibotta, you can earn $3.00 with the purchase of any size of Go & Grow by Similac® Mix-Ins. You can find them at your local Walmart store and online at Walmart.com! And don’t forget about Go & Grow by Similac® Milk Based Powder which complements toddler’s nutrition and is designed to support brain, eye, and physical development.
