It’s officially summer! For us, that means lots of trips to the beach, lazy days by the pool, and backyard barbecues. We are huge fans of barbecue all year round, but in summertime we kick it up a notch. There’s nothing like spending the day in the pool and cooking up your entire meal outdoors. We love creating bars of different type of food so everyone can customize their meals and add whatever toppings they’d like. This year for Father’s Day I’ve got a hot dog bar and s’mores bar planned for some added fun!
I knew this year I wanted to do a hot dog bar, so we could experiment with all different kinds of toppings, and the kids could still stick to classic ketchup or mustard. I included toppings like sauerkraut, jalapeños, shredded cheese, onions, tomatoes, and relish. We always use our favorite Ball Park® Hot Dogs and Ball Park® Hot Dog Buns so we know they will taste amazing every time! I love that I can buy them in bulk so we have enough for the entire family.
You can’t have a summer barbecue without refreshing Lipton® Iced Tea. I like to make it the night before so it can cool in the fridge before serving. It really is the perfect drink to cool you off in the summer heat.
Want to make your barbecue planning even easier? Three words for you. Walmart Grocery Pickup. I planned out my menu all week and started adding to a shopping cart on Walmart’s website. I scheduled my order for pick-up the day before our barbecue, hopped in the car, and the Walmart employees loaded everything into the car for me. No having to run around the store and hope I remembered everything on my list. They took all of the work out of it for me. If you haven’t used Walmart’s Grocery Pickup before, you are missing out!
